The DynaMO®
230 PCMCIA drive is the first to include both of the two
key necessities for portable computing peripherals,
battery power and a convenient PC Card interface,
delivering mobile freedom, near-hard drive speed and ease
of use. Measuring 25.3 mm (7/8-inch) high and
weighing only 450 grams (15.8 oz.), the DynaMO®
230 PCMCIA drive is the ideal storage companion to
portable computers. The drive operates with the
attachable battery pack using four standard AA batteries
or the AC adapter. In addition, the DynaMO®
230 PCMCIA drive features a credit-card-sized PC
Card connector that -- with an interface transfer rate of
8MB/sec -- provides eight times the throughput of a
standard parallel connection.
The DynaMO® 230
PCMCIA drive's battery power source and rugged
enclosure are optimised for the mobile computing
environment. Our 3.5-inch 128MB or 230MB media allows
users to utilise large database, spreadsheet,
presentation, sound and video files and run applications
with about the same performance as a hard drive.
User Investment In Data Protected
The DynaMO® 230
PCMCIA uses ISO (International Standards
Organisation) standard 3.5-inch, 90mm MO disks that are
as convenient as 3.5-inch floppy disks yet provide up to
160 times the capacity, can be rewritten to an unlimited
number of times, are safe from accidental erasure from
magnetic fields, and are sturdier for portable use.
Because of this high reliability and an estimated media
lifetime of 30 years, Fujitsu backs its MO disk
cartridges with a limited lifetime warranty. And, unlike
other removable storage technologies, Fujitsu DynaMO
drives allow users to read and write data on previous
version 128MB 3.5-inch MO cartridges and are forward
compatible with future generation DynaMO products.
Optimised For the Portable Computing
Environment
The DynaMO® 230
PCMCIA is ideal for the various environments where
customers use their notebook computers. Since there is no
contact with the media and laser-generated heat is used
to write data, there is no chance of head crashes or data
loss due to the bumps and shocks of the mobile
environment. At the same time, the DynaMO®
230 PCMCIA extends the capacity of mobile computing
by enabling portable use of an entire desktop
environment.
