Installation
Cooling
Install the drive so that no part extends from the mounting
surface. Observe the following clearances from adjacent objects. 
Clearances for M2485B & BD models.
Clearances for M2485B1 & BD1 models with automatic cartridge loader.
As the drive has an integral cooling fan at the rear of the cabinet it not necessary to provide for extra cooling, however, it is most important that at least a 50 millimetre gap is left at the back of the cabinet to maintain adequate air flow.
Cleaning
For cleaning insert an approved cleaning cartridge and cleaning will be performed automatically. When cleaning is finished, the cleaning tape is rewound and ejected automatically. Cleaning takes about 60 seconds. Cleaning is required when the message *CLEAN is displayed on the operator panel. However, it recommended to clean in the following periods according to the number of processed cartridges in a day regardless of any cleaning message.
5 cartridges/day : once every 2 weeks
10 cartridges/day : once every week
50 cartridges/day : once every day
Tape Capacity
Storage capacity per tape can vary dramatically according to the formatted block size. Below is a comparative list of those block sizes :
