Fujitsu VM4 and VM8

The Fujitsu VM4 / VM8 are ideal for the low to medium volume user, producing sharp and clear printouts at a standard resolution of 300 x 300 dpi, which is optimised by Fujitsu Enhanced Imaging Technology (FEIT) to produce 300 x 900 dpi.

Separately exchangeable toner cartridge and print unit and low energy consumption in standby and sleep mode provide economic and environmentally friendly operation.

Standard PCL5 ( LaserJet III ) emulation for the widest software compatibility, with optional PostScript compatible emulation card available.

Optional RS232, AppleTalk and Ethernet interfaces cater for the wide range of host equipment available today.

INSTALLATION

Preparing the Print Unit & Toner cartridge

The VM4/VM8 has an H.P. LaserJet III emulation, you should select this emulation within any software you will use with the VM4, if LaserJet III is not available in your application/OS software select the following in decreasing order of preference LaserJet II, LaserJet +, LaserJet

If you have installed a Postscript emulation card then by default the printer will select this emulation. In your application select the Apple LaserWriter+ driver. To use the Postscript emulation card, the printer MUST have at least 3meg of ram in total, confirm by printing printers status page to check installed ram size.

If you need to alter any of the internal printers default settings, which are not configurable via your chosen software driver, you will need to use the PC based VMMENU program which is supplied with the printer and is documented in the printers user manual.
