Hard Disk Drives

There are now just two popular interfaces for intelligent hard disks. IDE, adopted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as ATA, has gained its popularity in the Personal market and still remains favourite. SCSI provides for a much more flexible way to connect all sorts of peripherals to the PC via an additional host interface card and of course is the only type of disk to connect to Apple range of computers. SCSI also has its place among many of Fujitsus OEM customers and in the Digital Equipment, Commodore, IBM RS6000, IBM AS400, Silicon Graphics, HP, and SUN markets.
