Building on the
success of its existing desktop scanners, Fujitsu has
added a new product to the range which will redifine the
way that paper is handled in the office. Called the
ScanPartner EO (Electronic Office), it is aimed at people
who want to reduce the amount of paper they have to
handle and administer in their normal working day. ScanPartner
EO offers a convenient system for storing and scanning
inbound corresponence and can also double as a facsimile
machine and copier when connected to a telephone line and
printer using appropriate software.
As a duplex scanner, ScanPartner EO has a speed of 10
× A4 pages per minute or 14 images per minute, a
greyscale of 256 levels and selectable output resolution.
Conscious of space contraints on the desktop, it is
roughly the size of a video recorder and fits under a PC
monitor or desktop laser printer. A feature that
ScanPartner EO delivers over all other scanners is its
hopper input tray, which slides out from the device and
can store over 30 sheets. This effectively means that
users have a ready made "in tray" in which to
store documents waiting to be scanned. Scanning can then
be carried out at the most convenient time.
