Fujitsu Image Enhancement Options

Scanner options from Fujitsu are available to enhance the capabilities of Fujitsu scanners to meet imaging application-specific needs, generically referred to as Enhancement Technology. After selecting the Fujitsu scanner that best suits your application, choose from the following options to optimise its imaging capabilities to fit your exact requirements.

Imaging Processing Circuit (IPC)

The IPC option features simplified Dynamic Thresholding to improve contrast and text quality making it easier for the scanner to read images with varying line thickness such as signatures and handwritten information. Automatic Discrimination enables the scanner to switch between text and photos in a single pass, and Subwindow allows four windows to be created on scanned image so the items inside the subwindows can be processed with different settings. Additional features include Outline, Reverse, Mirror and Overlay Pattern capabilities, which are frequently used in desktop publishing. (M3093, M3096E+ and M3096G).

Dynamic Threshold Circuit

The DTC option includes the same Dynamic Thresholding features as the IPC option as well as Noise Removal, Smoothing and Ball Point Pen modes. Noise removal eliminates particles on the copied or faxed documents for character recognition (OCR) applications. Smoothing reduces the extremes of a line art image and Ball Point Pen mode compensates for the reflective light characteristic of ink. Both are extremely useful for OCR applications. (M3096E)

Image Processing Circuit II (IPCII)

IPC II combines all features of both the IPC and DTC options as described above and has been specifically designed for Fujitsu’s new range of heavy duty scanners. (M3093EX/GX, 3096EX/GX, 3097E/G, and 3099A/G)

Memory Compression Circuits (CMP/CMP II)

4MB memory and compression for SCSI scanners only.

Red Lamp Background Filter

This option is used for scanning pre-printed forms with red backgrounds such as those found in the medical or healthcare professions. The red lamp removes the form in red from scans, thereby capturing only the data and saving storage space. The red lamp also allows the scanner to read data off a red background that cannot be read with the standard green lamp. (M3093, M3097, M3096, and ScanPartner 10)

SCSI Connection Kit

Provides everything necessary to interface a SCSI scanner to an AT-class (ISA) PC. Includes an Adaptec SCSI host adapter, EZ SCSI driver installation software, API drivers and a SCSI cable.
