Page Printer Engine Counters
FUJITSU page printers have a page counter that records the total number of pages printed by the engine.. The method of accessing this information varies between printers.

Print Partner V series printers (PP10V,PP14V,PP14AV,PP14ADV)

1. Hold down + & - buttons on printer control panel while powering up printer.

2. Release buttons when printers LCD display changes to TEST PRINT.

3. Press ENTER button to execute the test print.

4. Page count is shown in value 1

Take care not to execute any other factory tests, i.e. only press ENTER if display shows TEST PRINT

The maintenance mode 3 detailed below will provide the page count of the print engine.

Take great care not to select the wrong maintenance mode

The Print Partner 10 & 14 provides special functions which are started by holding the ONLINE button pressed when the power is turned on.

(1) Maintenance modes

Five maintenance modes are provided. The mode is indicated by the four LED indicators (READY, DATA, PAPER, and TONER) on the control panel.

Special Maintenance Modes

Note: When executing the EEPROM clear mode, Print Partner 10 & 14 determines the default paper size depending on the paper tray installed.

(2) How to execute the maintenance mode

1. Press and hold the ONLINE button while turning the printer on.

Note: Be sure to keep holding the ONLINE button until step 6

2. All indicators turn on.

3. All indicators except POWER turn off.

4. The READY indicator turns on.

5. All indicators turn on again.

Changing from step 4 status to step 5 status indicates that the printer enters maintenance mode 1.

6. Release the ONLINE button.

The printer is now in maintenance mode 1, print unit change mode, but does not execute it yet.

7. If you want to execute maintenance mode 1, press the READY button for more than five seconds. If you want to execute other steps, go to step 8.

8. Press the READY button for less than one second to change the maintenance mode to the next.

9. Repeat step 8 until the desired maintenance mode is indicated, then press the ONLINE button for more than five seconds to execute the selected mode.

Notes:

1. To stop or quit the maintenance mode, turn power off.

2. The maintenance mode changes step by step. However, it does not

change from maintenance mode 1, factory mode, to any other mode. Be sure to turn power off if the printer enters the factory mode.

3. Never execute the factory mode. It initializes the printer. The user's set data will be lost.

(3) Information printed in test print mode

The printer prints the following information.

[VALUE 1]: Total number of printed pages

Maximum = 16,777,216 (The maximum value returns to zero.)

Power on printer holding down ‘ON LINE’ & ‘BIN SELECT’ buttons

When display changes from ‘Initialising’ to ‘Warm Up’ release buttons to display page count

Printer will print Setup Report which gives the Total Page Count

Refer to mechanical counter on right hand side of printer under small hinged panel

Press ‘ON-LINE’ to take printer Off Line

Hold down ‘MENU’ until display reads ‘CONFIG MENU’

Press MENU button repeatedly until display reads ‘TOTAL = xxxxx’

Press ‘On-Line’ to take printer off line

Press ‘On-Line’ & ‘Menu 1’ together - display reads ‘Interface’

Press ‘Menu 1’ (Next) until the display reads ‘Others’

Press ‘Paper Select’ (Enter) display reads ‘Op Lang’

Press ‘Menu 1’ (Next) twice

Press ‘Paper Select’ (Enter) to display Total Page Count

VM4/VM8

The maintenance mode 3 detailed below will provide the page count of the print engine, take care not to select the wrong maintenance mode

The VM4/VM8 or Printpartner 4000/8000 provides special functions which are started by holding the ONLINE button pressed when the power is turned on.

(1) Maintenance modes

Five maintenance modes are provided. The mode is indicated by the four LED indicators (ONLINE, DATA, PAPER, and TONER) on the control panel.
